Pixel Defect Taxonomy: Dead vs Stuck vs Hot
Every pixel in modern 1080p, 1440p, and 4K displays consists of three independent sub-pixels: Red, Green, and Blue.

Method 1: Rapid High-Frequency RGB Sub-Pixel Cycling (Recommended)
The safest and most effective method to revive a stuck pixel is rapid color oscillation:
- Open the Dead Pixel Fixer utility.
- Set the strobe speed to 30Hz or 60Hz.
- Drag the flashing square directly over the stuck pixel.
- Leave the utility running for 15 to 30 minutes. The rapid electrical excitation forces the liquid crystal molecules to cycle through open and closed states, frequently breaking the surface tension that keeps them frozen.
Method 2: The Gentle Pressure Technique (Use with Caution)
If software strobing does not unstick the pixel after 45 minutes, a mild physical technique can be attempted on LCD panels (Do NOT attempt on delicate QD-OLED panels):
- Turn off the monitor to power down the backlight and liquid crystals.
- Take a clean microfiber cloth wrapped around a blunt, rounded object (such as a pencil eraser or stylus tip).
- Apply very gentle, localized pressure directly onto the stuck pixel while turning the monitor back on.
- Release the pressure immediately after the screen illuminates to check if the crystal realignment succeeded.
