Mathematical Definition of Frametime Jitter
Frametime jitter (σ) is defined as the root-mean-square deviation of individual frame intervals (Δt) from the mean frametime (μ):
σ = √( (1 / N) × ∑ (Δt_i - μ)² )A jitter score below 0.30ms represents esports-grade frame pacing (Grade S+). A jitter score between 0.30ms and 1.20ms represents standard gaming stability. Any score above 2.00ms produces visible micro-stutters and input inconsistency.
